Understanding the Dashboard
The dashboard is organized into cards, each serving a specific purpose:
My Location Card
Section titled “My Location Card”Purpose: Displays your current GPS location data
What you’ll see:
- Latitude / Longitude: GPS coordinates
- Altitude: Elevation above sea level (in meters)
- Accuracy: GPS accuracy (in meters)
NS Analytics Upload Card
Section titled “NS Analytics Upload Card”Purpose: Shows survey progress and upload status to the NS Analytics service
The card will initially show information indicating you need to register your device via QR code to NS Analytics.

Once registered with NS Analytics, what you’ll see:
- Survey Status: “Survey Inactive” or “Survey in Progress”
- Record Count: Total number of records collected that have yet to be uploaded to NS Analytics
- Start/Stop Button: Start or stop the survey
- Details Button: View detailed upload information and manage the connection to NS Analytics
OpenCelliD & BeaconDB Upload Card
Section titled “OpenCelliD & BeaconDB Upload Card”Purpose: Manage uploads to public cell tower and WiFi databases
What you’ll see:
- Description of what data will be uploaded
- Start/Stop Button Start or stop the survey
- Survey Status: “Survey Inactive” or active status
- Records Ready for Upload section showing:
- Cellular: Number of cell tower records ready
- Wi-Fi: Number of WiFi beacon records ready
- Upload Records button
- Settings button to view settings for OpenCelliD and BeaconDB upload
Local File Logging Control Card
Section titled “Local File Logging Control Card”Purpose: Enable or disable local file logging for each technology type
What you’ll see:
- Toggle switches for each technology:
- Cellular: Log cell tower data
- Wi-Fi: Log WiFi network data
- Bluetooth: Log Bluetooth device data
- GNSS: Log satellite/GPS data
- CDR: Log Call Detail Records (if using CDR version)
- Status: Shows “Off” or “On” for each technology
MQTT Connection Card
Section titled “MQTT Connection Card”Purpose: Configure and control MQTT broker connection for real-time data streaming
What you’ll see:
- Connection status (“MQTT Connection Off” or connected broker info)
- Toggle switch to enable/disable connection
- Settings gear icon to configure broker connection details
Bottom Navigation Bar
Section titled “Bottom Navigation Bar”The icons at the bottom of the dashboard provide quick access to detailed views for each technology:
- Dashboard Icon: Return to main dashboard (you are here)
- Cellular Icon: View detailed cellular network information
- Wi-Fi Icon: View the WiFi network list
- Bluetooth Icon: View the Bluetooth device list
- GNSS Icon: View detailed satellite information
Navigation Menu
Section titled “Navigation Menu”Tap the ☰ hamburger menu in the top-left to access additional features:
- NS Analytics - Scan QR code to link with NS Analytics and manage the NS Analytics connection
- gRPC Connection - Configure gRPC streaming (advanced)
- MQTT Broker - Configure MQTT streaming
- Tower Map - Interactive map showing cell tower locations
- Cellular Calculator - Tools for calculating eNB ID, Sector ID, NR NCI
- Survey Monitor - Track active surveys with map visualization
- Settings - App configuration and preferences
- User Manual - Access the app’s user manual
- Messaging Docs - Documentation for MQTT and gRPC messaging formats
- Report an Issue - Submit publicly visible feedback or bug reports
