Installation
Network Survey is available through multiple distribution channels. Choose the option that best suits your needs.
Distribution Channels
Section titled “Distribution Channels”Google Play Store (Recommended for most users)
Section titled “Google Play Store (Recommended for most users)”The easiest way to install Network Survey is through the Google Play Store.

Play Store Version Includes:
- Automatic updates via Google Play
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (for crash reporting)
- Standard CDR logging (limited)
CDR Limitations:
- SMS events are NOT logged in CDR files
- Phone numbers associated with calls are NOT logged
- These limitations are due to Google Play Store policies
IzzyOnDroid
Section titled “IzzyOnDroid”IzzyOnDroid is an F-Droid-compatible repository that provides faster updates than the official F-Droid repository.

IzzyOnDroid Version Includes:
- No Firebase tracking
- Full CDR logging support
F-Droid
Section titled “F-Droid”F-Droid is a catalog of free and open-source Android apps.

F-Droid Version Includes:
- No Firebase tracking
- Full CDR logging support
GitHub Releases (Advanced Users)
Section titled “GitHub Releases (Advanced Users)”Download APK files directly from GitHub releases. This is useful if you want a specific version or the CDR variant.

Two APK variants are available:

- Same as Play Store version but without automatic updates
- Firebase Analytics included

⭐ Recommended for advanced users- Full CDR logging (includes SMS events and phone numbers)
- No Firebase Analytics
Installation Steps:
- Navigate to the Releases Page
- Download the desired APK file from the latest release
- On your Android device, go to Settings → Security
- Enable Install apps from unknown sources (or approve for your browser/file manager)
- Open the downloaded APK file and tap Install
Building from Source
Section titled “Building from Source”If you want to build Network Survey yourself or modify the source code, see the GitHub repo for more details.

Recommendations:
- Most Users: Google Play Store (easiest installation and updates)
- Privacy-Focused Users: F-Droid or IzzyOnDroid (no Firebase Services)
- Advanced CDR Logging: IzzyOnDroid or GitHub CDR APK
- Developers/Testers: Build from source
System Requirements

Section titled “Minimum Requirements”- Android Version: 8.0 (Oreo) or higher
- Permissions: Location, Phone State, Notifications
Recommended
Section titled “Recommended”- Android Version: 12.0 or higher for best compatibility
- GPS: Built-in GPS for accurate location data
- Camera: For scanning QR codes (MQTT/NS Analytics setup)
