QR Code Registration
NS Analytics is a companion web platform for visualizing and analyzing Network Survey data. Device registration via QR code provides seamless integration between the mobile app and web platform.
What is NS Analytics?

Getting Your QR Code
Section titled “Getting Your QR Code”From NS Analytics Dashboard
Section titled “From NS Analytics Dashboard”- Log in to NS Analytics
- Navigate to Devices
- Find the “Register Device” button
- QR code appears on screen
QR Code Contains:
- Workspace ID
- Authentication token
- Server connection details
Scanning QR Code in Network Survey
Section titled “Scanning QR Code in Network Survey”Step-by-Step Registration
Section titled “Step-by-Step Registration”- Open Network Survey app
- Tap ☰ (menu) → NS Analytics
- Tap Camera icon (QR scanner)
- Grant camera permission if prompted
- Point camera at QR code on computer screen
- QR code scans automatically
- Success message appears
- Device is now registered
What Happens:
- Network Survey connects to NS Analytics
- Device serial number sent to workspace
- Device authentication token is generated stored locally on your device
- Staring an NS Analytics survey will now sync data to the cloud
Device Serial Number
Section titled “Device Serial Number”Android automatically generates a unique serial number for Network survey when it is installed on your device.
This is different from the hardware serial number set by the manufacturer. Instead, it’s a random identifier created by Android specific to the Network Survey app.
Viewing Your Serial Number:
- Menu → Settings
- Scroll to bottom
- Find “Device Serial Number”
This serial number identifies your device in NS Analytics workspace.
What Data Gets Synced
Section titled “What Data Gets Synced”Once registered, The NS Analytics Details screen has toggles to enable/disable data sync for each technology.
Auto Upload
Section titled “Auto Upload”When enabled, data collected during surveys automatically uploads to NS Analytics in the background.
If disabled, data remains local on your device and does not sync automatically. Use the “Upload Now” button to manually upload data.
Sync happens when:
- The specific NS Analytics survey is started
- You have internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular)
- You haven’t exceeded record limits
- Auto-upload is enabled (or manually via the “Upload Now” button)
Verifying Registration
Section titled “Verifying Registration”In Network Survey App
Section titled “In Network Survey App”- Menu → NS Analytics
- Check connection status:
- “Workspace Registered” - Successfully registered
- View registered workspace name
- See last sync time
In NS Analytics Dashboard
Section titled “In NS Analytics Dashboard”- Log in to NS Analytics
- Navigate to Devices page
- Your device appears in list with:
- Device serial number
- Device name (if set)
- Last seen timestamp
- Data statistics
Unregistering Devices
Section titled “Unregistering Devices”From Network Survey App
Section titled “From Network Survey App”- Menu → NS Analytics
- Tap “Unregister from Workspace”
- Confirmation prompt
- Device unregistered
What Happens:
- Stops syncing new data
- Authentication token removed
- Previously synced data remains in NS Analytics
From NS Analytics Dashboard
Section titled “From NS Analytics Dashboard”- Log in to NS Analytics
- Devices → Select device
- Click “Deregister”
- Confirmation prompt
- Device removed from workspace
What Happens:
- Device can no longer sync
- App still has token (but invalid)
- Need to scan QR code again to re-register
Switching Workspaces
Section titled “Switching Workspaces”To move device to different workspace:
- Unregister from current workspace (either app or dashboard)
- Get QR code from new workspace
- Scan new QR code in Network Survey
- Device now syncs to new workspace
